• In addition to wages and salaries, other areas that can be negotiated include: staffing and overtime, safety and health, adequate retirement, vacations, commuter and uniform issues, and a workable disciplinary system.
• Through your union, you and your coworkers enforce the provisions of the contract.
• Your union also works for you outside of the workplace, in the halls of the nation’s Capitol. Unions fight hard for their members’ political and legislative interests.
