Order of Events

  1. ITMs sign and collect authorization cards.
  2. ITMs file for an election with the National Mediation Board
  3. The Airline must submit a List of Potential Eligible Voters and signature samples to the National Mediation Board, NMB.
  4. The NMB compares the signed authorization cards to the List of Potential Eligible Voters supplied by the carrier to determine the percentage of employees signing authorization cards is at least 35%.
  5. The NMB authorizes an election and sets the dates for the election. The election is conducted through Telephone Electronic Voting (TEV) and Internet Voting.
  6. NMB mails voting instructions and the election period begins!
  7. The election period ends and the votes are counted by the NMB.
  8. Vote YES, we win! If the majority of the votes cast are YES votes, ITMS gain a voice at work and our Union is certified by the NMB.
